New London Dive Team
DUI salutes the New London Dive Team
The New London Dive Team consists of 14 team members. Out of the 14 members, we have 10 active divers and 4 surface support personnel. The members yare all either fire fighters, EMTs or police officers from the local area. The Dive Team began training in 2008 and has continued their training with Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Ice Diver, and Emergency Response Diver.
The Dive Team is centralized with the New London, New Hampshire Fire Department, but covers a large geographical area. The team is equipped and prepared to respond to a variety of water related rescues and recoveries in the Lake Sunapee and Upper Valley areas of New Hampshire. The Dive Team trains at least one day per month, with some months having more extensive training for different specialty classes.
In 2010, the Dive Team purchased 6 DUI TLS350 Public Safety drysuits. DUI was chosen for their long standing reputation to the diving community and their on-going support of public safety dive teams. The team chose high visibility colors along with reflective tape so divers will be easily seen. The RockBoots have been a great benefit for divers walking on varied terrain while working at dive operations. By utilizing DUI drysuits, the team has been able to become more uniformed. We look forward to working with DUI on becoming fully encapsulated.
