Join DUI in the Solomon Islands April 12-22, 2016 Join DUI on an unforgettable trip to dive the Solomon Islands. Situated to the south east of Papua New Guinea and only 3 hours by air from Australia, the Solomon Islands are one of the most peaceful and beautiful areas of the Pacific. Comprised of 992 islands, of which 147 are inhabited, the Solomon Islands have some of the most pristine dive sites in the world. Unspoiled because of the remote location, there are not many divers to put pressure on the reef and fish. You have caverns, wide-angle reefs, large sea fans, soft corals, impressive large pelagic such as sharks and mantas, and rare macro critters. The Solomon Islands promise to have something in store for every type of diver! After WWII, the water in between the Florida Islands and Guadalcanal was renamed to Iron Bottom Sound due to the 200 ships, 690 air crafts, and countless landing barges that sunk there during those many months of battle. A wreck diver’s paradise! View Solomon Islands dive trip details here. Posted March 2015Comments will be approved before showing up.
